A crown fee is not one number everywhere, because the work is not always the same tooth or the same material. This page explains what changes a fee. It does not compare this office with any other practice, and it does not claim to be the lowest price in the Bay Area.

What changes the fee

  • The material: ceramic, porcelain over metal, or full metal
  • Whether the tooth needs a build-up so the crown has something to hold
  • Whether the nerve needs a root canal before or with the crown
  • Whether the crown is on a natural tooth or on an implant
  • Whether the goal is a single tooth or a change to the whole smile

The price at this office

For an eligible tooth, the ceramic crown in this program is $799. That figure includes the exam, the X-rays, a build-up if the tooth needs one, and the crown itself. It is the standing price for that service. It is not a sale, and dental insurance is not required.

Wisdom teeth, second molars, implant crowns, and esthetic E.max or smile-design cases are outside that price. A root canal, if the X-ray shows one is needed, is a separate fee. You see that fee in writing at the first visit, before you pay. Other offices set their own fees. Ask them for their own written estimate rather than treating any single number as the market price.

This is general information, not dental advice and not a diagnosis. Offer terms for the crown program are confirmed at a consultation.
